Context café

Coffee, vinyl and steel: furniture for Context café

Context is a café on Hoholivska Street in Kyiv where coffee comes with a soundtrack on vinyl: records line the shelves and a turntable waits on the organiser. For this venue we made custom furniture: a front bar with a stainless steel top, a communal table, a vinyl organiser and wall panels with record shelves, a stainless steel wall panel and a retail cabinet.

The heart of the room is the front bar. Its 5 mm stainless steel top keeps up with the café's daily rhythm: hot cups, water and constant cleaning. A warm, richly textured front and a steel plinth make the counter both cosy and practical, while larger groups and meetings gather at a communal table on a solid conical base, its top set in a stainless steel frame.

Above the lounge area glows a stainless steel wall panel with round cut-outs and backlighting, while the shelving panels and the organiser turn the record collection into part of the interior. A retail cabinet with lit shelves keeps bags of coffee on show. This is what hospitality furniture made for a specific venue looks like: every piece works for both the atmosphere and the daily service.
