Shchyro café

Brick, glass and steel for Shchyro café

Shchyro is a café on Yurkivska Street in Podil, with white brick, a concrete ceiling and large windows that let the daylight into the room. For this space we made a metal and glass partition, a flower planter, mirrors, stainless steel sinks and a spill stop.

The partition in a slim metal frame hangs from the ceiling and divides the room without taking away light or air: the glass is held by neat steel clamps, and every joint looks like part of the design. Above the seating a long flower planter runs along the wall, and below it a row of soft-shaped mirrors reflects the brick and the light.

In the restroom, against a terracotta wall, there are stainless steel sinks and a tall mirror in a steel frame, and on the bar a round stainless steel spill stop catches drips right in the counter top. Honest, sincere materials for a venue whose name means exactly that - this is how we love to make hospitality furniture.
